The 5 best apps to help you get into the meditation groove #SimonSaysChallenge

Meditation is one of the best ways to combat feelings of anxiety and fatigue. As a brand that is all about achieving a healthy lifestyle and overall wellness, we at sussed see huge benefits from partaking in the practice of mindfulness. There are so many ways to do it whether it be putting on a playlist, listening to calming sounds or following a meditation guide to lead you through the experience.

Luckily for you, we’ve compiled a list of our favourite apps and playlists so you don’t have to. Each has great benefits so why not try a few of them out and see which works best for you.

  • Headspace – it’s one of the most popular apps available and we can totally see why. It’s perfect for beginners and hosts lots of free content so you can give it a go without having to commit to a subscription. It covers everything from breathing exercises to body scans in one, 5 and 10-minute sessions.
  • Calm – another app that is used widely. You can sign up for a free one week trial and a year long subscription after that if you wish. If you love the outdoors then the Calm app is for you. It also has a number of sessions recorded by celebrities such as Stephen Fry and Matthew McConaghy which reminds us of being read a story as a kid.
  • Meditate on Spotify – they have a whole series of playlists to match your mood and preferences. We’d recommend this for someone who has meditation experience as it can be hard to keep on track for beginners without a guide leading the way
  • Simple Habit – this is a really nice app that is super easy to follow. It’s completely free and is perfect for someone who only has a few spare minutes in the day with most sessions lasting 5 minutes
  • Portal – if you’re looking for a meditation app that will give you the best night’s sleep of your life then this is the one for you! It transports you to gorgeous places all over the world and cocoons you in an oasis of calm. You can also set an alarm to switch off the sounds as you fall asleep.
